Jack Goldburg, co-founder of Jack’s Dining Room, will face University of Florida fans in a series of physical challenges on Saturday, November 7. The contest, organized by Yes Chef Group and presented by Pepsi, offers a total pool of $40,000 in cash prizes to participants who defeat the chef.
The event serves as the second stop on the Yes Chef Tailgates tour. It is scheduled to take place at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, also known as The Swamp, in Gainesville. The tailgate will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time, leading up to the Gators’ game against the University of Oklahoma.
Goldburg will compete in three specific games: Reaction Catch, Football Toss, and Pepsi Putt. These contests are not open to the general public immediately. Instead, attendees must first qualify through a leaderboard system. Fans who play the games during the early entry window will be ranked, and top performers will be selected to go head-to-head against Goldburg.
The event schedule is divided into two distinct phases. The tailgate opens to RSVP guests at 4:30 p.m. These early arrivals receive free play on all games and the opportunity to secure a spot on the leaderboard. The public entry gate opens at 6:30 p.m., and no reservation is required for those arriving after that time. The main "Beat Jack" challenge, where leaderboard contestants face Goldburg for the cash prizes, begins at 6 p.m.
Food and beverage services are provided by Grievous Angel and LoveBird, which will serve tailgate meals. Attendees will also have access to free samples of Pepsi Zero Sugar and Pepsi Prebiotic Cola. DJ gudgroove will provide live music throughout the duration of the event.
Space is limited for the RSVP portion of the event. Fans can secure their spot through the Jack’s Dining Room Instagram page. On-site RSVPs are available subject to capacity. The contest is open to eligible Florida residents aged 18 and older. Participants must present a government-issued photo ID. No purchase is necessary to enter.
Pepsi has been a partner of the University of Florida for 21 years. The company is bringing its "Tailgating Deserves Pepsi" platform to the event. While Pepsi presents the event, Yes Chef Group sponsors the contest, and Chem Creative administers and judges the competition. Pepsi does not administer or judge the contest or award prizes directly.
