Tyler Huntley will not play again in the 2026 season.

Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Wednesday that the Ravens' starting backup requires surgery for a turf toe injury on his right foot. Huntley sustained the injury during the second quarter of Sunday's 36-10 defeat in Buffalo. Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver brought the quarterback to the ground after Huntley released the pass.

The injury compounds Baltimore's problems at the position. Starting quarterback Lamar Jackson is out indefinitely with a right thumb injury he suffered on his first snap of the same game. Coach Jesse Minter described Jackson's condition as potentially season-ending.

Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano will make his first career start Thursday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fagnano is a full participant in practice and wore a brace on his right ankle on Tuesday. He becomes the second undrafted quarterback to make a first career start in a primetime game. The first to achieve that distinction was Cooper Rush with the Dallas Cowboys in 2021.

Baltimore's remaining options lack experience. The team's top three quarterbacks, Fagnano, Austin Reed, and Kedon Slovis, have combined for 23 career pass attempts, 44 total snaps, and zero touchdown passes in the NFL. Reed joined the practice squad on Monday, while Slovis arrived from Green Bay on Tuesday. Huntley, 28, started three games this season, including an overtime victory in Atlanta on Oct. 11. He is 8-11 as a starter in seven years, throwing 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
