The Marysville Opera House will host 90 minutes of community recognition for local veterans this Tuesday, Nov. 10. The event runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. at 1225 Third St. It is free to attend and includes complimentary coffee and light snacks for those in attendance.
Residents can register in advance for the gathering. The invitation extends to veterans, active-duty service members, and their families, as well as community members wishing to show appreciation for military service.
The following day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, marks the official Veterans Day. American Legion Post 178 at 119 Cedar Ave. will host a program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event includes a free lunch for attendees. Organizers encourage participants to bring nonperishable food donations for the Marysville Food Pantry.
City Council issued a proclamation on Oct. 26 designating November as Military Family Appreciation Month. The document honors the strength and sacrifices of families supporting loved ones in the military.
Marysville city offices will close on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of the holiday. This closure aligns with the national holiday schedule for federal and municipal employees.
The city’s events this month focus on recognizing both service members and the families who support them. The schedule provides two distinct opportunities for public participation in the coming week.
