A Trump ally known for his distinctive clothing admitted to being unhappy with the election results.

Blake Marnell, widely recognized as the Brick Suit supporter, spoke from inside his car in southeastern Pennsylvania on election night. He expressed disappointment that the Democratic performance exceeded his expectations.

Marnell stated that the outcome was little worse than he had predicted. He had spent the previous month traveling across the country to support Republican candidates. His road trip covered 20 rallies in 12 states, including Ohio, Kansas, Texas, and South Carolina.

During the campaign, Marnell reported that enthusiasm remained high at Republican events. He noted that some venues had to turn away extra crowds due to capacity limits. He said he did not see clear signs that a Democratic wave was building, aside from a few protesters who were escorted out of events.

Marnell attributed the Democratic success to historical trends where the out-of-party experiences a rebound. He acknowledged that Republicans faced headwinds related to the economy. He agreed that President Trump shares some responsibility for voter frustration, stating that he is the captain of the ship.

He also conceded that the Iran war negatively impacted the Republican Party politically. In a social media post on Wednesday morning, Marnell urged his fellow party members to move forward after the setback. He described the loss as temporary and emphasized a core love for the country that would not be defeated.

The supporter, who became famous for wearing a brick-patterned suit to show support for border policies, maintained that the setback would eventually pass. He told followers that he truly believed the party would move beyond the results.
