Chevrolet and GMC are launching fully redesigned versions of their 2027 full-size pickup trucks, while Ford, Ram, and Toyota are rolling out specific model updates. Edmunds compiled data on these changes for buyers comparing the five major light-duty truck lines available next year. The report includes destination charges in all listed prices.

The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 marks a complete redesign of the vehicle. The new model features a lineup of four engines, led by two V-8 options. A 5.7-liter engine produces 402 horsepower, while a 6.6-liter engine generates 481 horsepower. The powertrain also includes a 350-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder and a 305-horsepower six-cylinder diesel. The diesel engine offers the best fuel economy in the group. The truck can tow up to 13,700 pounds and carry a payload of 2,340 pounds. The starting price for the base Work Truck trim is $41,395.

The interior of the new Silverado includes up to 60 inches of screen space and new driver-assistance technology. The model is available in regular, extended, and crew cab configurations. Seven trim levels are offered, ranging from the basic Work Truck to the High Country and ZR2 off-road versions. The GMC Sierra 1500 shares the same chassis, cab styles, and engine options as the Silverado. However, GMC positions the Sierra as a more premium option with distinct exterior and interior details. The Sierra has slightly lower maximum towing and payload capacities than the Chevy. It starts at $51,295.

Ford is updating the 2027 F-150 with a new standard engine. This turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 replaces the previous 2.7-liter V-6. Ford states that the new engine delivers peak torque sooner than the old model, which should improve acceleration from a stop. The optional 5.0-liter V-8 is becoming available in more trims. Ford is also introducing a new F-150 Carhartt model based on the XLT trim. This version features rugged interior materials and exclusive appearance details. Lower-priced versions of the Tremor and Raptor off-road models are also arriving. The BlueCruise hands-free driving technology now functions while towing. The estimated starting price for the F-150 is $40,500.

Ram is debuting two new versions of the 1500 for 2027. The Rumble Bee is a performance model focused on on-road handling. It features a wide-body design and is available with three V-8 engines. The top-tier SRT Rumble Bee uses a supercharged 6.2-liter engine that produces 777 horsepower. Ram quotes a top speed of 170 mph for this specific configuration. The Ram 1500 SRT TRX returns after a brief hiatus. It also uses the 777-horsepower V-8 and features a reworked suspension and updated interior materials. The starting price for the Ram 1500 is $45,370.

Toyota is updating the styling of the 2027 Tundra and adding a new Honeycomb color for the TRD Pro model. The company is launching a new off-road variant called the Trailhunter. Designed for overlanding, the Trailhunter includes all-terrain tires, a tuned suspension, and underbody skid plates. It also features low-speed cruise control for trail driving. The Tundra introduces a next-generation infotainment system with a standard 14-inch touchscreen. The driver assistance package has improved detection capabilities. The estimated starting price is $44,000.
