The National Football League reached a rare milestone on Sunday when only one team remained unbeaten in Week 7.
The Minnesota Vikings secured their sixth win of the season with a 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, keeping their record at 6-0.
The 49ers and the Chiefs both dropped games, ending their perfect starts and leaving Minnesota as the sole undefeated squad.
San Francisco opened the game with a 14-3 lead against the Atlanta Falcons but could not hold on. The 49ers lost the game 29-20.
Injuries depleted the San Francisco receiving corps, with the team missing its top five receivers, including Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel Sr.
Christian McCaffrey also played only part of the game. Quarterback Brock Purdy threw two interceptions, allowing the Falcons to score 13 points on San Francisco's four turnovers.
Purdy noted that the team moved the ball well early but suffered costly mistakes late. He stated that protecting the football is the number one priority in the organization.
The 49ers will rest for a week before hosting the Las Vegas Raiders on November 8.
The Kansas City Chiefs lost 20-3 to the Seattle Seahawks in a game that marked a career first for Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes did not guide his offense into the red zone, a feat he had never achieved before. He completed 57.6 percent of his passes.
The Seahawks defense held Kenneth Walker III to 36 rushing yards on 14 carries. Walker entered the game leading the league in rushing.
Mahomes acknowledged that the performance was disappointing during a prime time slot. The Chiefs face the Denver Broncos next Sunday in a battle for first place in the AFC West division, a game coming shortly after their bye week conclusion was effectively shortened by the loss context, though they already had their bye, they must fix issues quickly against the Broncos who are 5-2. Wait, the source says Chiefs have bye week already, so they play Denver next Sunday. The text says 'The Chiefs (5-1) already had their bye week so they have to fix their problems quickly with a matchup for first place in the AFC West coming up next Sunday at Denver (5-2).'
