The fall season of the L.A. Karaoke league began in late September at The Good Nite bar in North Hollywood. League manager Michelle Goff introduced the new cycle of weekly themed competitions to a group of performers and spectators. The schedule runs for six weeks of regular play, followed by two weeks of playoffs and a final championship.

Participants pay between $65 and $80 to register, with the exact cost depending on the timing of the sign-up and any applied discount codes. The league operates under the United Karaoke network, which connects chapters in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Chicago. All local leagues use the same competition format, voting application, and guidelines for maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. The L.A. chapter started in Santa Monica in 2014 before moving to its current venue in 2021.

Performances at The Good Nite range from solo acts to large group numbers. The audience votes for their favorite acts, and singers are encouraged to use props and costumes. Recent sets have included Harry Potter characters singing Taylor Swift songs and a performer dressed as Mount Vesuvius while her team sings Bastille. The bar features a purple interior lighting scheme and is located on a quiet section of Burbank Boulevard.

Carlos Mulia, a chef and actor who recently joined the league, noted that the venue provides a sense of community in a large city. He said the group offers a creative outlet during Hollywood’s production slowdown, when acting auditions are rare. Mulia stated that the regular gatherings help manage the psychological impact of limited work opportunities for performers.

Jordan Delgado, an actor and art teacher, also debuted in the new season. Delgado is half-Filipino and described karaoke as a core part of his cultural background. He plans to sing “You and I” by Lady Gaga for his first set. Delgado said the league provides a regular social event where participants can be playful without judgment.

Delgado won the best performer award during the league’s Graveyard Week, a themed night for songs that are typically banned for being overplayed. He performed “Shallow” by singing both the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper parts. Delgado wore a costume split down the middle, representing each character on one side of his body.

The next season is scheduled to start in late January or early February. Registration for the fall season is closed, but league nights remain open to the public without a cover charge. Spectators can watch performances and vote for favorites at any time.
